::Constitution and Bylaws
Attached below is the new Constitution and Bylaws for the
Covenant Association, Michigan Conference United Church of Christ. As you recall three years ago we created a plan of restructure for the Association. We have had a period of transition and now have a document to guide us in how we are performing our ministry today. You will note several major changes: e.g., we no longer have committees (these were not functioning), and instead we have designated Advocates for the various areas of ministry. You may contact an Advocate to find answers to questions in the various areas.
The council is now an Executive Team, functioning to challenge all of us to do Christ's ministry in this part of the world. This team moderates the income and expenses of the Association as well.
Our Church and Ministry Team is the most important function of the Association. The very active and dedicated individuals on this team, both lay and clergy, are working extremely well, with responsibilities divided among themselves.
My hope and prayer is that we will accept this document on Saturday, April 28, 2007, as our guide to do God's work in the years ahead.
